We are a municipal association for the municipalities of Karlshamn, Olofström, and Sölvesborg with a joint environmental office in Sölvesborg. We fulfill the authority tasks of our member municipalities in the area of environmental and health protection. About 30 people work with us, focusing on those we serve. This means we are informative and advisory but also set requirements and make the decisions necessary to reduce environmental impact, increase compliance with laws, and contribute to a good business climate with healthy competition between companies and operations.

Our administration is organized with a staff, an environmental protection unit, and a food and health protection unit. You will be part of the food and health protection unit, which consists of about twelve people.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Within health protection supervision, the association contributes to ensuring that our residents have a good living environment, as well as that preschool children and school students are not exposed to health risks. Our supervisory assignment within health protection supervision also includes smoke-free environments according to the Tobacco Act, hygienic operations, solariums, swimming pools, beach baths, sports facilities, gyms, temporary accommodations, and object-bound infection control investigations. A smaller part of the position may consist of alcohol supervision at serving establishments. Most alcohol supervision occurs on weekends, evenings, and nights.

The role means that you are responsible for managing your cases from start to finish. You conduct inspections on-site, check for deficiencies, follow up and set requirements, and make decisions as needed. Part of the work involves providing information and advice to businesses, as well as collaborating with member municipalities. Contacts with the media may also occur. A professional approach is an important part of the work to create a good relationship with the companies and individuals whose cases you handle.

You will be part of a workgroup of about 5 people, who together plan, implement, and develop the supervisory work and our working methods. Working with development is a natural part of everyday life. You plan and carry out your inspections independently, which creates flexibility for you.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree with a focus on environmental and health protection, or other education and work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Education in environmental law and/or administrative law.
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.
• Good IT skills and experience with the Office suite.
• A B driver's license (manual transmission).
